Ingredients 

  • 1 pound chicken breasts, boneless, skinless,
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg, whisked, or 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 bag Nacho Cheese Doritos, 9.25 ounce bag

Instructions 

  • To make tenders, cut the chicken into strips and season them with garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  • Whisk the egg in a shallow bowl and set aside.
  • Gently crush chips with a rolling pin, meat mallet or the bottom of a ceramic bowl in a one-gallon Ziploc bag until they are finely crushed like breadcrumbs.
  • Dredge seasoned chicken pieces into the whisked egg mixture or mayonnaise, and then add chicken into the bag of crushed Dorito’s.
  • Shake bag, tossing chicken with Dorito crumbs, until they are covered in chip coating.
  • Remove them from the bag and place them in the air fryer basket that has been lightly sprayed with nonstick spray.
  • Make sure chicken is in a single layer, without overlapping and air fry at 380 degrees F for 12-14 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the chicken which should be 165 degrees F, until golden brown and serve immediately.

Optional Favorite Dipping Sauce: Ranch dressing, salsa Verde, blue cheese dressing, sour cream and chives, honey mustard, spicy nacho cheese, BBQ sauce or mild salsa.
